Bilingual Education
Overview
The Bilingual Education (BIL) minor is specifically designed for teacher education majors interested in earning a bilingual endorsement on their Illinois Professional Educators License.
Point of Pride
The Bilingual Education minor includes coursework and clinical experiences that lead to a bilingual endorsement on an Illinois Professional Educators License.
Why study Bilingual Education?
The Bilingual Education endorsement allows teachers to work in dual-language classrooms where content is delivered in both English and an additional language. Fluency in English and a second language is required for the BIL endorsement and is built into the minor admission criteria. The BIL endorsement will be applied to the content area and age range on the teaching license.
